Agcc Signs Mou With Olympic Committee

Builds on prior collaboration with the 2012 London Olympic Games
 
The Alderney Gaming Control Commission (AGCC) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
 
Under the terms of the agreement, the AGCC will exchange information with the IOC should concerns arise regarding manipulation of sporting events and/or suspicious betting patterns.

AGCC Executive Director André Wilsenach said: "This MoU enables the IOC and the Commission to rapidly communicate any concerns relating to the integrity of betting on Olympic events. The Commission will be able to raise issues identified by licensees in accordance with their regulatory obligations as well as alerting licensees to concerns of the IOC that may have been drawn to their attention by other regulators."
 
Any information forwarded by the AGCC will be used by the IOC's newly-established Integrity Betting, Intelligence System (IBIS) which will be in operation for the first time in Sochi.  IBIS which collates alerts and information will also be placed at the disposal of International Federations during their major championships, the IOC said.
