For contradictory qualifier terms
A Coral Interactive Euro 2016 promotion was put to the test following a complainants claim that it was misleading.
The promotion offered free bets under certain terms and conditions to new and existing Coral Connect customers in any Coral Shop.
The customer had been incorrectly told by Coral’s customer service team that he was not eligible for the promotion as he held an in-shop Connect card as opposed to the required multi-channel card.
Coral responded that it had taken action to ensure that the situation did not reoccur, nevertheless, the ASA ruled the ad as misleading and instructed the company ensure that any qualifications in their future promotions clarified, rather than contradicted their headline claims.
