Atlantic City November 2010 Revenues down another 12.5 percent

November numbers give little cause for celebration
 
The need for additional revenues flowing from legalised intrastate online gambling in New Jersey a has again been highlighted by a continuing decline in Atlantic City land casino revenues.
 
The numbers for November 2010 show a further chilling slide – down 12.5 percent on the same period in 2009.
 
Regulatory officials reported this week that Atlantic City's 11 terrestrial casinos won $261.7 million in November, with slot winnings down 11.9 percent to $182.2 million, and table games down 14 percent to $79.5 million.
 
The worst performer was Resorts Atlantic City where revenues slipped 28.6 percent over the year, vindicating the decision by lenders this week to sell the enterprise off.
 
The other side of the coin was that the Tropicana Casino and Resort posted an 11.2 percent gain.
 
Over the first 11 months of the year, Atlantic City casinos have won $3.3 billion, down 9.3 percent from the same period last year.
