Ladbrokes Resumes Australian Inplay Betting

Betting group reverses decision to withdraw its "click to call" service.
 
Back in July this year Ladbrokes Australia felt sufficiently threatened by the authorities on its interpretation of laws against in-play betting that it withdrew its "click to call" in-play betting facility, but the company has now resumed the service after reviewing failed enforcement activity by the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
 
Our readers will recall that Ladbrokes, along with rivals Bet365 and William Hill, exploited a loophole in the legalization which makes it possible for punters to bet on in-play action on desktop and mobile devices as long as the microphone is left turned on.
 
Whilst William Hill and Bet365 toughed it out when threatened by the ACMA, Ladbrokes decided that discretion was better than valour and shut its in-play activity down
