Online gambling software and games developer Microgaming has issued a preview of a major online slot release slated for February 2014, announcing that the new game will be a sequel to Avalon, one of the Isle of Man firm's most successful proprietary titles.
In Avalon II, The Quest for the Grail, the theme returns to the Arthurian legend and carries a five reel, 243 ways-to-win slot that takes players on an epic quest to retrieve the Grail.
Joined by Merlin, King Arthur, Guinevere and Morgan, the journey through the Kingdom will see players revel in eight bonus rounds of captivating gameplay. The Grail Bonus, designed to bring longevity to the game, will give players the chance to reforge Excalibur, spin the Wheel of Fortune and defeat the Black Knight to recover the Grail.
The game's characters have been brought to life through 3D rendered animations and the world of Avalon is portrayed through intricate tapestry, classically painted environments, and suspenseful sound effects.
"Two years in creation, the slot sets a new precedent in game design," a Microgaming spokesman said Friday. "Meticulous by nature, the game development team has created a wholly original experience."
