Bet At Home Fails To Respond to ASA

Friday September 7. 2012 : BET-AT-HOME FAILS TO RESPOND TO ASA

Ruling on complaint upheld

The UK Advertising Standards Authority  expressed its disappointment at Bet-At-Home's failure to respond to questions it posed with regard to a website banner ad that appeared on charltonathletic-mad.co.uk.

The complainant challenged whether the ad straplined "Life is a Game" which featured a woman's naked midriff and other suggestive images was offensive in that it portrayed woman as sexual objects.

The ASA said it was concerned by Bet-At-Home's lack of response and apparent disregard for the breach of the CAP code and publically reminded the company of its "responsibility to respond promptly to our enquiries".

The ad may not appear in its current form and the matter was referred to the ASA's CAP Compliance team.
