Betfair Opens Tech Center in Romania

Establishment in Cluj employs 330 as online gambling group's largest technical operation.
 
UK online gambling group Betfair has announced the opening of its largest technical centre in Cluj, Romania, a technical establishment that is staffed by 330 employees.
 
The group's chief technical officer, Paul Cutter, travelled to Romania for the official opening and said that the new operation is central to the group strategy to concentrate on in-house product and operational development rather than rely on third party supplier agreements.
 
The new centre joins similar technical establishments in the UK and Portugal, and will focus on programming, information security, IT infrastructure, technical support and project/product management.
