Bitcoin-currency sports betting firm builds on World Cup player acquisitions.

Recently-launched BetVIP.com, which has opened more than 3,500 accounts since going live in June 2014, has integrated Betradar’s Virtual Football League ahead of the 2014/15 season.

The world’s first bitcoin-only sportsbook already offers hundreds of sports markets on dozens of sports and now offers punters around-the-clock wagering opportunities on authentic Virtual Football League match simulations.

“We are taking the site to another level with the implementation of Virtual Football and we will be integrating more products soon,” said BetVIP founder and CEO Daniel Schwartzkopff this week.

“With domestic football about to begin again all over Europe it is imperative to constantly improve our offering to players.”

Curacao-licensed BetVIP.com opened for business before the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in June, and Schwartzkopff says that players have been a mixture of bitcoin enthusiasts and traditional sports bettors.

“Our analytics show that the bitcoin community was not immune to World Cup fever,” said Schwartzkopff. “Early adopters and currency traders are by their very nature gamblers – and bitcoin users fall into both of these groups. Many BetVIP players have proven to be existing digital currency owners.”
