BetVictor Partners With UK Racing

Saturday February 20,2016 :  ONLINE SPORTS BETTING OPERATOR SIGNS UP AS AN AUTHORISED BETTING PARTNER WITH U.K. RACING

BetVictor the fourth online bookie to agree to pay 7.5 percent of its horse racing revenue to the British Horseracing Authority.

Faced with exclusions from racing course sponsorships, online bookmaker BetVictor has become the fourth online operator to sign up as an Authorised Betting Partner with the British Horseracing Authority, reportedly agreeing to cough up 7.5 percent of its racing bet revenue to the organisation.

The three year deal aligns BetVictor with other signups, including 32Red, Bet365 and Betfair, but there remains strong resistance from other companies to the BHA demand.

The BHA launched its Authorised Betting Partner initiative last October, justifying it by explaining that online bookies benefit from the racing industry and, like their land counterparts, should make a contribution to the Authority in return for publicity and sponsorship privileges.

Land bookmakers contribute 10.75 percent of retail race wagering revenue as part of the UK horseracing levy scheme.
