Blom Wins Again At High Stakes Tables

Friday January 11, 2013 : BLOM BACK IN CHARGE AT HIGH STAKES VIRTUAL TABLES (Update)

After taking a $509,000 loss Wednesday, Swedish pro bounces back

Despite a brutal reversal of fortunes at the virtual nosebleed tables on Full Tilt Poker Wednesday, which saw him lose $509,000 in a single session, Viktor Isildur1 Blom was back in action Thursday, again taking charge and recouping his losses.

The young Swede put on an ‘exhilarating' display of aggressive and confident poker to recover his lost bankroll, with Ben "Sauce1234" Sulsky and Tom "durrrr" Dwan being the main donors.

The fact that during the day he actually lost another $550,000 playing Omaha Hi Lo, but managed to turn that around and then recoup his previous day's losses made the feat all the more remarkable.

The session cost Dwan over $320,000 on Triple Draw action, whilst Sulsky took another massive $730,000 bath in heads up action against a rampant Blom on the Triple Draw and PLO tables.

Other players with whom Blom clashed in a long day at the office included ‘Cottonseed1‘ who had the Swede beat in a four-and-a-half hour battle on the FLO8 tables.

Blom and Sulsky's clash for the third day running had online railbirds excited as the duo started out on PLO $400/$800, both buying in for the $120,000 max on two tables. After a rocky start Blom steadily gained the ascendancy to finish the session off with a profit of $640,000, with his struggling opponent a million dollar loser on the day.

HSDB reports that at his high point Blom was up over $800,000 for the day, but he came short on the FLO8 tables, losing around $240,000 to Kyle ‘KPR16’ Ray.

In total the Swedish phenom ended yesterday's long day of action $500,900 in profit, bringing his winnings for the first 10 days of 2013 to around $4.15 million.

Other six-figure winners on Full Tilt Thursday included Kyle "KPR16" Ray ($315,200); Cottonseed1 ($270,500); davin77 ($184,400); SallyWoo ($178,800); Phil "OMGClayAiken" ($161,000) and Ben "Bttech86" ($123,500).
