New BOOK On AP Hole Card Scandle

Friday August 17, 2012 : ANOTHER BOOK ON ABSOLUTE POKER

"Bringing Down the House" author is writing a book on hole card scandal

With a documentary film and a book by an online poker journalist both imminent, the Absolute Poker cheating debacle is already due to receive further wide coverage, but this week noted author Ben Mezrich revealed that he, too, is working on a book on internet poker's biggest ever scandal.

Mezrich is a successful writer, having previously authored best sellers like "Bringing Down the House" and “The Accidental Billionaires”.

This week he revealed on CNBC's "The Squawk Box" program that Absolute Poker is the subject of his next book, due out next summer, which will explain how a group of mainly scions of wealthy American families came together in a frat house at the University of Montana to create one of the most successful online poker websites for its time….and how it ended up on the scrapheap with a bad reputation, leaving thousands of players unpaid.

Mezrich will have plenty to work with – colourful characters, technological skulduggery, astute player detective work, FBI agents and tens of millions of dollars in ill-gotten gains have all made the Absolute Poker and UltimateBet Poker stories irresistible.
