Caesars Leads In Social Online Gaming

Friday October 18,2013 : C.I.E. LEADS IN SOCIAL GAMING

Eilers study shows interactive division of casino giant in pole position

The latest 3rd quarter report on the social gaming scene by Eilers Research puts Caesars Interactive Entertainment at the head of a list of the most successful online and mobile companies in the sector, citing revenues of $70 million from its mobile and Facebook enterprises.

Games like Bingo Blitz and WSOP have given C.I.E. a lead in the amount of market share on mobile devices, too ahead of companies like Big Fish Games' Big Fish Casino suite. The trend to mobile is again noticeable, with usage up over 11 percent from the second quarter.

Eilers report expects further acceleration in mobile due to “migration of social/casual gamers” from Facebook to handheld devices, and claims that upo-and-coming firms in this sector include Novomatica, with its Pharaoh’s Way slot application.

International Gaming Technology's DoubleDown Casino is chasing Caesars hard, overtaking struggling giant Zynga's Texas Hold'Em Poker and its abandoned Zynga Slingo in the process, reports the publication Online Poker Report, which comments that the quarterly results show a largely flat market.

Eilers says that DoubleDown now commands 16 percent of the social gaming market, regularly reporting sequential growth in a market that increasingly is moving in favour of apps launched by casinos rather than specialised social game developers, with players preferring access to game suites instead of standalone games.

WMS Industries' Jackpot Party Casino is among the leaders, too, delivering a 7 percent growth over the previous quarter to claim a 5.6 percent market share, followed at some distance by High5 Games and Aristocrat Technologies.
