3 Reasons The Golden State Warriors Can Win It All

Wednesday February 25,2014 :  NBA Betting: 3 Reasons The Golden State Warriors Can Win It All

The NBA season is approaching the month of March, which means that if teams want to make a strong push in the attempt to get a higher seed and home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs, they don’t really have all that much time available. Contenders have to be able to step up to the table or face the reality of having to play Game 7s on the road if life gets difficult.

1 – Stephen Curry

Online sports betting websites that follow professional basketball are not going to dispute this point: Curry is going to be the reason the Warriors win the NBA title if they do manage to pull of the feat. Curry’s ability to shoot quickly, accurately, and from long distances in so many situations is exactly what makes Golden State’s offense so hard to defend. Curry is effortlessly good as a shooter when he catches a pass, but he can shoot well off the dribble as well. His long-range marksmanship is what enabled Golden State to control the first two games of last year’s second-round playoff series against the San Antonio Spurs. Had Golden State not botched a defensive assignment at the end of Game 1, the Warriors just might have been able to win that series. If Golden State plays the Spurs or another elite team such as the Oklahoma City Thunder in the playoffs, Curry is the kind of offensive force that would give Golden State a legitimate chance to not merely be competitive, but to win and advance to the NBA Finals. The Warriors have played the Miami Heat on very even terms in each of the past two seasons and would be able to handle the defending champions as long as Curry is in fine form. Curry got injured later in the San Antonio series last year, so if his health can hold up, the Warriors might have the difference-making factor they need.

2 – Andrew Bogut

This is the key player for the Warriors near the basket. Bogut has been slowed down by injuries throughout his career, but he played through pain to become a very effective presence against the Spurs in last year’s memorable six-game playoff series. Bogut gets the most out of what his body will allow him to do. He’s a strong rebounder and an even better low-post defender. He gives this team some muscle near the basket, making him a needed complement to what Curry and also Klay Thompson do on the perimeter. As long as Bogut is operating well in the post, the Warriors can get open shots on the wings.

3 – The Volatile Nature Of The West After Oklahoma City And San Antonio

In the Western Conference, Oklahoma City and San Antonio have established themselves as the two best teams, but after that, the situation is very fluid. If the Warriors can rise up the standings in the next six weeks, they could get the third seed and home-court advantage in at least one playoff series, thereby improving their odds.
