CelebPoker and Dracula Poker Acquired By Titan Poker

Thursday August 23,2012 :  TITAN POKER GROWING LIKE TOPSY

iPoker network site is currently absorbing two more shutdowns

Titan Poker, the biggest skin on Playtech's iPoker network is busy absorbing players from two failed online poker operators, probably as a result of the introduction of the network's two-tier membership structure .

Reports coming in at present are that CelebPoker and Dracula Poker are both shutting down, with players being directed to Titan.

Dracula Poker joined iPoker in 2009 and served mainly the Romanian and Hungarian markets, showing signs of battle fatigue recently, according to player message boards

New players trying to access Dracula Poker.com are being re-routed to Titan, and greeted with a message that reads:

“Welcome to Titanpoker.com. Dracula Poker has closed its doors. Dracula Poker players are invited to join Titanpoker.com, a leading online poker room in game selection, software security and tournament prize offerings.”

CelebPoker was established in 2004 on the International Poker Network, switching five years later to iPoker.  Rakepoker.com seems to have had advance knowledge of its impending shut down, reporting the poker room would be merged with Titan Poker "in about two weeks’ time."

When we went to press Wednesday neither company had responded to a request for confirmation on the changes.

The iPoker network launched a new set of rules in July this year (see previous InfoPowa reports), which created segregated player pools in a two tier network rearrangement likely to prejudice smaller sites. This requires operators to comply with its minimum standards by the end of August.

Top tier sites will have to maintain a minimum of 6,000 monthly active players, as well as bringing in 850 new punters each month, and maintain a balance between "fish" and "sharks".
