The survey assessed the industry's top ten sites based on monthly page view statistics from Doubleclick Adplanner, naming 888, William Hill, Betfair, Paddy Power, Ladbrokes, Bet 365, Skybet, Betfred, Stan James and Coral as top ten performers.
The survey placed Coral at the overall head of the top ten, with bet365 bringing up the rear (see rankings and hints to achieve top results here:

Betfred won the accolade of best site in terms of layout and navigation, with Coral, 888 and Ladbrokes all doing well in this segment.
In the Search segment, Betfair and Ladbrokes scored particularly well, deploying a clear call to action and displaying good predictive search capabilities for players to quickly and easily search bets and find what they are looking for.
William Hill plc led the way in helping players to choose their bets, making it easy and fast.
When it came to registration and conversions, Stan James led the field by a country mile, providing an effective, quick yet easy-to-use process.
However, the survey found that checkout procedures at most sites could use improvement. The exception was Paddy Power, which received a perfect score in a segment where most companies rated only a 60 percent approval rate.
The booming Mobile segment – GBP 3 billion in bets were made via the mobile channel in 2011 – was also studied to explore how top ten sites translated to the mobile device using a standard iPhone browser, as opposed to looking at specific mobile apps.
All top ten brands offered mobile action, with William Hill, Paddy Power, bet 365 and Skybet all scoring 100 percent in this section. The assessment was based on layout and legibility, vertical scrolling, ergonomically-friendly controls and design that allows for maximum load speed.
