Croatian Gambling Tax Going Up

Thursday January 23 ,2014 :  PUNTERS TO PAY MORE BETTING TAX IN CROATIA

10 percent on wins over 1,500 Croatian kuna is proposed.

Few details are available on a Croatian Times report Thursday that the Croatian Ministry of Finance is about to impose a heavier tax on punters who win playing the lottery or betting on sports.

Sources claim that punters who achieve wins over 1,500 Croatian kuna (about Euro 200) will have to cough up 10 percent for the taxman.

In the past, only wins of over 30,000 kuna were taxed.

In addition to a thriving retail betting industry, Croatian online gamblers are well served by online betting websites, some provided by leading names in the European operator sector.
