Good start in newly liberalised market
 
Key performance highlights for the period include:
 
–     Profit totaling DKK 837million (HY1 2011: DKK 629 million), a 33 percent increase.
–     An increase of DKK292 million in Gross Gaming Revenue to DKK 1,978 million
–     Total costs DKK400 million, up by DKK 36 million due to increased marketing in the new market and during the European Football Championship.
 
"This significant progress of our results indicates that Danske Spil got off to a very good start on the new gaming market, which was introduced 1 January this year," said HC Madsen, chief executive officer of Danske Spil.
 
The company's strong performance was attributed to the launch of casino and poker products, its new Eurojackpot game and a strong result from its Onsdags Lotto.  It expects to achieve around DKK 1.6 to 1.7 Billion in profit based on GGR for the full financial year.
