Monday July 30,2012 : AUSSIE WIN IN KIWI SNOWFEST POKER

Profitable weekend for Allan

Australian player David Allan returned home NZ$110,600 wealthier this weekend after taking down the 2012 PokerStars Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Queenstown Snowfest main event.

This year the NZ$3,000 buy-in tournament attracted 149 poker players from 17 different countries, creating a prize pool of NZ$402,300 from which 15 players cashed.

Players from around the Asia Pacific Rim contributed to the record pool, adding an international flavour to the entry list, which was nevertheless dominated by Australian players.

After a week of action, in the end it came down to a tough two hour heads up in which Allan faced fellow Aussie Ken Demlakian, with the chip lead changing several times before an aggressive Allan was able to establish supremacy and win the competition.

Demlakian's second placing brought him a NZ$70,400 prize.
