US ONLINE GAMBLING OPERATORS SENTENCED

Friday June 15,2012 :  US ONLINE GAMBLING OPERATORS SENTENCED (Update)

Defendants were taken in by DoJ's faux processor Linwood Payment Systems

Just over a year after federal officials in Maryland shut down the BetED online gambling website following its use of the government's undercover processing company Linwood Payment Systems, one of the two defendants involved, David Parchomchuk, has been sentenced.

Parchomchuk faced a maximum five year prison sentence after pleading guilty to operating an illegal gambling enterprise, but reportedly cooperated with federal law enforcement, providing information related to the other defendant, Darren Wright’s activities. By doing so, Parchomchuk reduced his punishment to two years probation and the forfeiture of cash held in three bank accounts.

Wright will appear in court on July 16 to answer changes arising from his involvement in ThrillX Systems t/a BetED.
