Pokerstars management has revealed that it is testing and actively considering the introduction of a "run it twice" feature, an innovation first implemented by the Merge network four years ago and dubbed "deal it twice", which was subsequently followed by a Full Tilt Poker variant.

The reprise feature has proved popular in high stakes games and consists of two players who are all-in before the river agreeing to the remaining board being dealt twice, reducing the all-in variance. If each player wins one of the reprise hands the pot is split.

Posting on the twoplustwo message board, a Pokerstars manager wrote: “We expect a prototype on TestPokerStars to be available later in August for player testing (subject to changes). Based on stability of the feature it might be released soon to main clients or might stay on TestPokerStars only for a longer period of time."
