Seventh consecutive week of declining lower traffic

Tuesday April 23, 2013 : ONLINE POKER TRAFFIC CONTINUES TO DECLINE

Seventh consecutive week of lower traffic

Reporting in its weekly assessment of global online poker traffic Tuesday, the independent monitor Pokerscout noted that traffic has declined 6 percent week-on-week for its seventh consecutive week of lower traffic. All top ten sites and networks showed weaker traffic.

Pokerscout also notes that since this time last year, traffic has slipped a worrying 12 percent.

Pokerstars remained the dominant force in the industry, well ahead of nearest rival iPoker Network, with Full Tilt Poker dropping to third, PartyPoker at fourth and 888Poker at fifth.

"The huge drop in overall traffic can be attributed to a European epidemic of spring fever," reports Pokerscout. "Temperatures well above average were seen from London to Moscow as a wave of unusually good weather struck across Europe. As usual, the fair weather sent players scrambling to get outside and away from their keyboards, causing traffic to plunge across the board."
