New bid to bring in sports and online betting

A bill authorising online betting in Delaware and allowing more sites for sports wagering and other gambling is headed to the state House for a vote, according to reports Thursday from Associated Press and other agencies..

The House Gaming and Parimutuels Committee voted Thursday to progress the bill for a vote on the bill, which in addition to embracing online gambling proposes an expansion of keno beyond Delaware's three existing casinos to at least 100 other sites, and permitting betting on NFL games in at least 20 more venues.

Officials say the expected revenue would allow them to eliminate $4 million in slot machine fees paid by the casinos and cut their table game fees by more than $3 million.
