Top daily fantasy sports betting operator Draftkings suffered expensive outages during a peak period over the weekend as betting on NFL games mounted, costing the company significant amounts in lost betting and wasted marketing.
 
The outages struck immediately ahead of the afternoon games on Sunday, with the operator citing “connectivity” hassles and keeping punters advised on the crisis, with reassurances regarding refunds.
 
The hiatus in betting continued well into the afternoon, apparently returning to normal around 4pm.
Despite technical team interventions, it was not clear what had caused the outages when we went to press Monday morning.
