UK poker company to put up Euro 1 million guarantee for the inaugural tournament winner
 
The controversial International Stadiums Poker Tour  has received a credibility boost by signing up an influential UK partner for its inaugural tournament at Wembley later this year.
 
The French organisers of the ISPT announced Friday that British live and online poker company Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club has signed up to licence, market and guarantee the ISPT tournament set to begin in June this year.
 
DTD's experienced tournament director Simon Trumper will be involved in organisational and operational activity for the event, and DTD has also guaranteed that at least Euro 1 million will be made available for the winner of the main event.
 
DTD owner Rob Jong said this week that the inaugural tournament presents a win-win situation for the British poker community.
 
“It will either be a great success with thousands of players, or there will be a massive overlay. To put this guarantee into perspective, DTD's monthly deep-stack pays GBP 40,000 to the winner – 120-times the GBP 336 buy-in – whereas the Euro 1 million first prize at ISPT Wembley will be a staggering 3,333-times the Euro 300 buy in," he said.
 
The online component of the ISPT is currently running through various satellites at diverse online poker rooms and are scheduled to end on May 19. DTD will be joining those sites offering satellites
 
Jong says that if this first outing of the ISPT is a success, it will pave the way for similar major tournaments at world-famous sports venues, generating serious prize pools and giving poker significant mainstream exposure alongside sports icons like the FA Cup final.
