Eastenders antique shop owner loses all in a poker game
UK followers of the long-running television soapie Eastenders will soon see one of the leading characters, antique shop owner Anthony Moon (played by actor Matt Lapinskas) unwisely clash with villain Derek Branning (actor Jamie Forman) in a drama-filled high stakes poker game.
Moon loses everything, and despite pleas for mercy is placed in a position where he has to leave despite his love for Branning's daughter Alice.
Will Moon return? Probably not – actor Matt Lapinskas announced in May that he would be leaving the series, but hoped that he might one day be written back into the script.
"I can't give too much away, but I can tell you that after going up against Derek, Anthony has no choice but to leave the Square," a source told UK media this week.
