Elky Grospellier European Poker Tour High Roller event

4/24/2012 : BIG POKER WIN FOR GROSPELLIER

"ElkY" bests 57 to take home Euro 231,000

Online and live tournament poker ace Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier again displayed his talent as a gifted player this week when he took down his third European Poker Tour High Roller event to claim the Euro 231,000 main prize at EPT Berlin.

57 players forked out Euro 10,000 apiece to compete in the event, among them stellar players like Chris Moorman, who ran the show for much of the game, Viktor Blom, Tobias Renkemeier, David Peters and Marvin Rettenmaier.

The final table comprised Grospellier and Moorman, along with Marvin Rettenmaier, David Peters, Tobias Reinkemeier, Oleh Okhotskyi, Viktor Blom and Martin Jacobson.

Moorman held a 2 to 1 chip advantage by the time he faced Grospellier in the heads up, but by dint of three spectacular all-ins, the Frenchman took control to snatch the game from his opponent and claim the victor's share of the prize pool, boosting his career earnings to over $9 million, according to some profiling sites.

Moorman was left with the runner up prize of Euro 145,200.
