EPIC POKER LEAGUE WILL NOT TOLERATE BAD CONDUCT

Friday August 12,2011 :  EPIC POKER LEAGUE WILL NOT TOLERATE BAD CONDUCT

New professional league will punish and name and shame those responsible

The newly launched Epic Poker League  has shown its teeth in an official comment regarding a row over unpaid debts among professional players on the twoplustwo message board.

EPL committee member and spokesman Mike MacDonald wrote on behalf of the league:

"We compiled a list of all players who we believed had previously conducted themselves in a way that if continued would lead to their elimination from the league, and personally reminded each individual that they will not be allowed to participate in the league if their future behaviour is the same as their past behaviour.

"I don't want to talk about any specifics, but I will say that people who are poor representatives of the game of poker will not last very long in this league and the EPL will publicly ‘out' people who are kicked out of the league rather than simply tell them not to show up and keep it hush-hush."

In related news, it appears that the executive of the EPL is pleased with the turnout for its first tournament. 137 EPL members signed up to play, which exceeded the expectations of executive chairman Jeffrey Pollack, who anticipated that 100 would participate.

"I think our first event has been a smash hit," said Pollack this week. "The Pro/Am and charity events exceeded our expectations and we're very pleased about the main event turnout, and appreciative of the players who played."

When InfoPowa went to press the field was down to 18 players led by the UK's Sam Trickett after two days of impressive and very professional action as EPL members fought for a main prize worth a million dollars. Trickett's chip stack was fifty percent larger than nearest rival Hasan Habib at that stage.
