Sunday February 21,2016 : 20-YEAR-OLD POLISH POKER PRO WINS E.P.T. 12 DUBLIN MAIN EVENT

Urbanovich beats Germany's Gilles Bernies in hard-fought heads up.

20-year-old Polish professional player Dzmitry Urbanovich continued his winning roll over the weekend by emerging victorious from a final table full of talent in the European Poker Tour 12 Dublin main event, claiming the main prize of Euro 561,900 and taking his live tournament career earnings over the past year to Euro 3.6 million.

The event attracted 605 entries and generated a prize pool of Euro 2,934,250 prize pool shared by the 87 top finishers.

Urbanovich started the final table action with a significant chip lead, but as the eliminations mounted was overtaken by Gilles Bernies (27), an amateur player and part-time DJ from Germany, who ended up facing the Pole with a huge 4 to 1 chip lead in the heads up.

Urbanovich benefitted from some good cards and his extensive experience and talent to power past his opponent, but Bernies staged a comeback which evened the scores before the dinner break.

After dinner the duo went back and forth for a while before Urbanovich was able to assert dominance and take the honours.

Bernies took home Euro 349,800 – a well-deserved reward for an admirable performance against a more-experienced live tournament player.  The remaining final table players were awarded:

Ilios Kamatakis Greece Euro152,600
