European Poker Tour will be slimmed down in season 9

04/26/2012 :  LESS STOPS IN SEASON 9 OF THE EUROPEAN POKER TOUR

Pokerstars streamlines and slims down 13 stops to 8 next year

The European Poker Tour will be slimmed down in season 9, with the current 13 stops cut to just 8, according to a Pokerstars notification this week.

However, there will be no shortage of action, thanks to partnerships with the Estrellas Poker and the UK and Ireland Poker Tours.

The new season, which starts in Barcelona on August 15 this year and ends in Monte Carlo in May 2013, will see participants travelling to Barcelona, San Remo, Prague, the Bahamas, Deauville, London, Berlin, and Monaco for an average two weeks of quality poker in each location that is expected to attract players at all levels.

EPT President Edgar Stuchly said this week: "We looked at every EPT season up until now and asked ourselves how we could make the tour even better for the players.

"In the end, every change comes down to making this a better tour for the people who make this tour what it is: our players."

The season 9 schedule features more big money High Roller and Super High Roller events; the detail is here: http://www.europeanpokertour.com/tournaments/
