Europe accounts for majority of suspicious betting reports.

Sports betting integrity body ESSA has reported 130 cases of suspicious betting activity during 2016, with forty-one cases occurring in the final quarter.

Of the 103 reported cases, seventy-one of those occurred in Europe dominated by 45 Tennis-related incidents. Sixteen cases reported were football focused.

Moving ahead, ESSA will progress a number of constructive actions in terms of its Alert System, in particular working more collaboratively with sports governing bodies and rights holders,” ESSA Chairman, Mike O’Kane, said.
