Italy Getting High Speed Poker
Thursday July 19, 2012 : HIGH SPEED POKER COMING TO ITALY
Regulator AAMS publishes guidelines
Arguably the most popular innovation in the evolution of internet poker fast-fold poker is about to appear on dedicated Italian online poker sites following the publication Wednesday of guidelines by regulator AAMS.
The Gaming Lawyer blog reported the development, advising that players will be able to join a maximum simultaneous player pool of 5,000, with each individual fast poker table accommodating up to 10 players.
A maximum stake of Euro 1,000 per session will apply for fast-fold poker as it does for poker cash games and tournaments, requiring players to reload from their account once this limit is reached.
Individual session times will be restricted to 72 hours, and operators will be required to make spoecific application if they wish to offer the genre.
The advent of this form of poker, which whisks online pokerheads to another table the moment they fold a hand, should boost interest in the game by Italian punters, along with new permissions that will allow casino style games on Italian sites come December this year. After a brilliant start, the Italian online poker market has been languishing in recent months, and this could be the fillip that it needs.
First introduced by the now disgraced Full Tilt Poker company as Rush Poker, fast-fold poker was soon emulated with great success by companies like Pokerstars (Zoom Poker), Microgaming (Blaze Poker), Relax Gaming (Fast Poker), Playtech (Speed Hold'em) and others.
