Francaise des Jeux to Invest 100 Million to modernise group

French online and land gambling group Francaise des Jeux has big plans for the future that include investing Euro 100 million in its ambitious FDJ2020 plan to modernise the group and achieve sales of Euro 14 billion in the future.
 
Chief executive Stéphane Pallez said in a corporate update this week:
 
“By taking up scratch cards, sports betting and digital games, French customers are choosing innovation and digital in 2015. FDJ’s performances this year have placed it in a strong position to realise its digital transformation linked with its ‘FDJ 2020' project.
 
"The development of our digital know-how will also feed FDJ’s international ambitions."
 
In a trading update FdeJ reported a 5.4 percent rise in sales to Euro 13.7 billion in 2015, with sports betting revenues up 14 percent to Euro 2.3 billion in land and online operations, and the online division contributing 10 percent of the total.
 
Management reported that the company has introduced markets in eight new sports linked to its ParionSport app which is planned to coincide with major sports events later this year. The company intends to market vigorously in order to boost its 3.3 million strong player base by 400,000 new punters.
 
Football remains the chief interest of FdJ punters and contributes 72 percent of bets.
