000 entries build a prize pool of $3 million

The latest edition of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series – the eighteenth – ended this week with a well subscribed Main Event that saw the top five players each taking home six-figure checks.

5 000 FTOPS XVIII entrants paid $600 apiece to register, building a prize pool that exceeded the guaranteed $3 million and enabled 720 players to cash.

The final tablers who survived the massive entry field included JHoWn – the eventual winner, who took home $411,932, along with hilyaki, ReifesEisen, sik0tic27, Lee “acumen53” Childs, kasper74, Leeba3443, Laurent “macqueen56” Bachelet and UGOTGYPSYD.

JHoWn eventually confronted runner-up hilyaki after more than 13 hours of final table action and following a three way chop between the two finalists and ReifesEisen. JHoWn held out for the win, with hilyaki collecting a secnd placing check for $337 929, and ReifesEisen coming in third for a $380 313 payday.

There was a good turnout of Full Tilt pros for the event, with Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, Allen Cunningham, Annette “Annette_15” Obrestad among the eighty five pros, and 2010 WSOP final tablers Michael Mizrachi, Joseph Cheong, John Dolan, Soi Nguyen, and John Racener all participating.
