Fulltilt Managers Said No To Tapie Offer

Wednesday May 16, 2012 : FULL TILT MANAGERS SAY ‘NO THANKS' TO TAPIE OFFER (Update)

There's perhaps a better future with a potential Pokerstars takeover rumoured….

If you were wondering how Laurent Tapie's attempt to poach key Full Tilt Poker staff for a new French online poker venture went, the online information site Gaming Intelligence had the answer this week, reporting that most of the Dublin-based managers approached have declined the offer.

Laurent Tapie, the CEO of Groupe Bernard Tapie, which recently abandoned its attempted acquisition of Full Tilt Poker, reportedly emailed an offer of employment to select FTP employees, indicating his intention to do his own thing in online poker by developing new poker software and setting up a rival operating company in Paris .

Those approached may well have been influenced to decline by a brief that the Pokerstars acquisition of the moribund FTP is progressing, although the Isle of Man-based poker giant has made no public disclosures other than to reveal that it is in talks with the US Department of Justice.
