Pokerstars gets moving on its acquisition

Pokerstars has wasted no time in reorganising Full Tilt Poker's IT set-up following its acquisition deal with the US Department of Justice.

The local Isle of Man Manx television station aired a report showing the arrival on the island this week of a cargo aircraft carrying Full Tilt Poker's servers from Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

The coverage included comment from Pokerstars communications chief Eric Hollreiser, who gave a reporter the background to the acquisition of FTP and details of his company's plan to have the company up and operating again by November 6.

"It was a great resolution for us," Hollreiser observed. "We were able to acquire the assets of Full Tilt Poker, which was one of our largest competitors, so we’ll be able to grow as a result.

"In addition to the assets, we've taken on a couple hundred staff so we’re growing, Full Tilt Poker is growing, we think the poker community is certainly embracing it and the business will come with that as well."

Hollreiser said Pokerstars has committed to re-opening FTP around the world and paying out all non-US players within ninety days of the acquisition deal closing.

"It is a large task but I’m confident we can do it so by the 6th [November] the site will be open, players will be playing again and able to access their funds."
