NEW CFO FOR GALA CORAL

UK gambling group Gala Coral has appointed Paul Bowtell to the position of chief financial officer, replacing Gary Hughes who will step down from the role at the end of this month.
 
Hughes who joined Gala Coral in October 2008 has steered the company into "good shape financially" and "will move on to other things”.
 
Bowtell joins the company from a CFO position with TUI Travel plc, prior to which he was the finance director for British Gas.
 
In related news, Gala Coral concluded a deal with the Noble Organisation to acquire the company’s bingo clubs in Middleborough and South Shields in the UK this week.
 
Simon Wykes, managing director, Gala Bingo said: “This acquisition follows a period when we have returned Gala Bingo to growth and reflects our confidence in the future of the business and, indeed, the bingo market as a whole.”
