Posted 1/11/11 : A wealth of Asian information at March congress

With new entries already proliferating in the 2011 diaries of industry executives, the organiser of iGaming Asia Congress has wisely decided to get the new year off to a flying start with an update on the congress and what it will offer delegates.

The venue is the Grand Hyatt, City of Dreams in Macau, and the proceedings start on March 2nd 2011, featuring a comprehensive overview of Internet and gaming legalization in Asia, and covering key questions such as the repercussions of China's crackdown on Internet betting and gaming, licensing options, and which markets might legalise online gaming in the future.

This is followed by a summary of the main Asian markets and a country by country breakdown of what is legally allowed and what is not, who the main players are, routes to market and local partnerships.

Countries and regions covered include:

CHINA & TAIWAN – Opportunities in the sports and welfare lotteries, building relationships with local media and update on the casino law in Taiwan

SE ASIA – Strategies of the incumbent operator in Malaysia and sports betting updates for Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia

PHILIPPINES – Marketing channels, betting opportunities and distribution via Internet cafés and kiosks

KOREA – Update from the monopoly operator, SportsToto

INDIA – Lottery opportunities, licensing and online gaming

AUSTRALIA – Policy and regulatory changes implemented since the Productivity Commission's Final Report on Gambling and the potential Asia-wide impact of changes in racing and sports betting

The organisers promise that delegates will be given insights into the strategies that Asian operators are using in Europe and the key challenges for foreign operators in Asia.
