Plots sports betting launch in UK market to complement online casino offer. In an operational update, Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) reported continued growth in its B2B segment which delivered all time high revenues in January 2017, offset by a small decline in its B2C segment compared to the previous month.
January 2017’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for GIG’s six gaming sites, decreased 2.6 percent to Euro 22.7 million compared to December 2016, the company said. Margins obtained were 3.63 percent for casino and 8.3 percent for sports betting.
A 3.9 percent decrease in total active real money players for the three-month period November 2016 – January 2017 was attributed to the migration of the Betit brands to GIG’s iGaming Cloud platform in November 2016. Betit is expected to increase going forward, GIG said.
GIG’s original brands, Guts.com, Rizk and Betspin had a 2.7 percent increase in active players from December 2016 to January 2017. GIG will expand into the UK market following the award of a combined remote operating license to its wholly owned subsidiary, MT SecureTrade Limited.
“This license provides an attractive opportunity for GIG to also offer sports betting to UK based customers – both for GIG’s own six brands as well as a growing number of white labels on the iGC platform. The Group’s offer to its UK clients was previously limited to online casino,” a company statement reads.
