William Hill Chairman Not Stepping Down

WILL HILL CHAIRMAN WILL NOT BE STEPPING DOWN (Update)

Gareth Davis is actively involved in finding a new CEO and sorting out the company problems.

Media speculation that there have been calls for William Hill chairman Gareth Davis to stand down in the wake of the abandoned merger attempt with Amaya  has been addressed in a company statement, the Reuters news agency reported Monday, quoting a company statement that advised:

"There are no plans for Gareth to step down. He is leading the CEO search process, which is well advanced, and is working with Philip Bowcock to deliver the key priorities for the business."

The Times reported on Sunday that the gambling group would be looking for a new chairman as well as a replacement CEO next year following criticism of Davis by major shareholders in the wake of the short-lived Amaya exploration.
