George Pataki ends presidential nomination Bit

Another would-be US president with anti-online gambling positions has dropped out of the race for the Republican nomination in next year's presidential election.
 
The Reuters news agency reports that former New York governor George Pataki (70) on Tuesday ended his long-shot bid for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination saying:
 
"While tonight is the end of my journey for the White House as I suspend my campaign for president, I'm confident we can elect the right person, someone who will bring us together."
 
Reuters reports that after the exit of fellow anti-online gambling campaigner Sen. Lindsey Graham earlier this month, Pataki was bottom of the shrinking Republican pack.
 
Political analysts do not expect his withdrawal to impact on the Republican race, which still has 12 candidates.
 
A former three-term New York governor who has not held office in nearly a decade, Pataki became a frontman for the Sheldon Adelson-funded Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling.
