GPT Coming Soon : Gay Poker Tour

Monday October 7, 2013 : Gay Poker Tour : A First For Land Based Poker Tournaments

Some recently leaked information to one of our reporters has shown there are discussions taking place by the organizers of the WPT.  A vote by the board is  taking place in the coming month on the possibility of launching a GAY ONLY poker tournament.   The GPT or Gay Poker Tour will be a series of 6 events taking place in San Francisco California in February 2014. Buy ins for these events will range from $225 for the opening tournament to the 6th event which is the GPT main event with a buy in of $1000.

From our sources we have learned that this tournament will operate on the honor system of sexual preference and  6% will be cut from each buy in to support Gay and Lesbian causes in the USA.  Our informants have also mentioned that 2 sponsors so far have agreed to donate $100 for each entered player to the GPT cause, they are The Village Voice and ChickfilA

Heres the interesting part: From what we know 3 professional poker players have already signed on to play. We do have there names but decided to not release them at this time as they are not openly known as gay, but are coming out before the tournament.  Im sure most of our readers who watch poker on TV or play with the pros live can easily guess 2 out of the 3. The third is a little difficult. Heres a hint thou, so far 2 male pros and one women pro  are committed to play.  This tournament is open to the public.
