Gus Hansen drops almost a million dollars

Thursday January 17, 2013 : MASSIVE HANSEN COOLER ON FULL TILT HIGH STAKES TABLES

The Great Dane drops almost a million dollars in a single session

Just when top poker ace Gus ‘The Great Dane' Hansen thought his (mis)fortunes were turning around on the Full Tilt Poker nosebleed tables he hit a massive cooler Tuesday, ending a 2,700 hand session down almost a million dollars.

Hansen's main tormentor was Alex “Alexonmoon” Luneau, who just could not go wrong, to the Danish pro's immense frustration, reports the High Stakes Data Base.

"For much of the day, Hansen was engaged in a huge $1,500-$3,000 limit deuce-to-seven triple draw battle against Alex “Alexonmoon” Luneau. Nothing seemed to go Hansen’s way," HSDB reports.

"The tables were so completely lopsided at one point that Hansen was down to just a few thousand bucks while his opponent was sitting pretty with more than $600,000."

Hansen was also mauled by SallyWoo at $2,000-$4,000 limit Omaha eight-or-better. After hundreds of hands, Hansen’s opponent had taken him for more than $700,000.
