GVC Holdings and IGT Awarded Romanian Gambling License


GVC AND IGT AWARDED ROMANIAN LICENSING

Expand presence in another regulated market.

GVC Holdings and International Game Technology are the latest to receive licensing from the Romanian National Gambling Office (ONJN).

The ONJN granted GVC Holdings a full and permanent 10-year license to operate sports betting and casino games in the country, via its fully owned subsidiary, Headlong Limited. In addition, the Group was also awarded a Class 2 license to supply software, affiliate marketing and hosting services to Headlong.

RecentPoker readers will recall, GVC has been operating its SportingBet brand in Romania under the terms of an interim license.

International Game Technology (IGT) obtained two Romanian Class II licenses, for platform management and software provision allowing it to serve Romanian customers through its remote game server.

“The granting of these licenses in Romania further enhances the IGT group’s presence in key regulated markets, and extends our support for our customers’ growth strategy,” Gianluca Ballocci, IGT Vice President Commercial Interactive Sales and B2C Operations, said.  “We look forward to delivering the industry’s most robust game portfolio and well-known IGT game content to operators and players throughout Romania.”
