Wednesday April 2,2014 : A WELCOME COMEBACK FOR DANISH POKER ACE
Hansen scores a relieving $850,000 on Full Tilt Poker.
The staggering and mounting losses of Danish poker pro Gus Hansen were at least temporarily halted over the weekend when he scored a profit of $850,000 on the virtual felt at Full Tilt Poker, with many of his fans hoping that it could be the start of an erosion of his scary $17 million in total losses.
According to the High Stakes Data Base, Hansen showed he still has it by crushing formidable nosebleed stakes players like Dan “jungleman12” Cates, Phil ‘Polarising' Ivey, samrostan, Follow the Hawk and ragen70 on the 2-7 Triple Draw, PLO and Six Max virtual tables.
It was arguably the Dane's best performance since Black Friday, when he was $4 million in the black prior to the Justice Department lowering the boom on US online poker.
Big losers online over the weekend included Viktor ‘Isildur1' Blom, who enjoyed a brief reprieve from his downswing on Saturday, only to see the bad vibe back Sunday, when Doug Polk took him for $236,000 on the $1,000/$2,000 Cap NLHE tables at Full Tilt.
After skirmishing with other players, Blom was able to reduce his loss on the weekend to $138,000.
