PMU AND HELLAS IN HORSE RACING POOL BETTING JV

Joint venture betting offer on French horse races.

French operator Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) and Greek operator Hellas Horse Races SAS have partnered for the launch of a joint pool betting offer on French horseracing.

On implementation, Greek bettors will have access to betting on around 10,000 races offered each year by PMU along with expanded options in terms of bet types.

Prior to this deal, betting on French racing was only available in a separate pool network of around 300 point of sale outlets.

"This partnership is part of PMU’s international development strategy, initiated several years ago, and which is experiencing strong growth,” Alain Bernard Resplandy, managing director of PMU said. “This joint betting partnership guarantees the best conditions for Greek bettors who have always shown a real enthusiasm for horse racing. The figures recorded in the past highlight this and point to results that will contribute both to the financing of the horse industry in France and to the revival of the Greek sector. "
