Tuesday June 18,2013 : GENTING DECISION ON HENDON MOB POKER PROMO RAISES EYEBROWS
Attempt to expunge player promo dollars described as "an error"
The last few days have not been happy ones for Genting Poker, which did its relationship with players little good this week when new poker manager James Lowe unilaterally announced that the company would not honour promotional dollars won during a collaborative arrangement with the Hendon Mob.
The manner in which the announcement was made probably irritated the Hendon Mob as well – it appears that the first they knew about the cancellation of the promo was when Lowe triggered the issue…on the Hendon Mob forum!
The immediate outcry from the player community appears to have brought about a review of this questionable decision, because a day later Lowe was back on the message boards reversing the decision and describing it as an error.
Many players claimed to have substantial balances from the promo, which gave $3 of “Hendon Mob Sponsorship Dollars” for every $10 raked on the poker room. Players could use the dollars to participate in live or online tournaments.
Having the rewards arbitrarily "dishonoured" understandably raised the players' ire and resulted in some acrimonious message board postings.
Whilst the Hendon Mob -Genting promo remains cancelled, affected players have been assured that their promo dollars earned up to June 14 will be respected.
