Hero Poker Joins Microgaming Poker Network

Wednesday November 27 ,2013 :  HERO POKER TO JOIN MICROGAMING POKER NETWORK?

Erstwhile Merge poker room looks for a new start…but it doesn't include US players.

Hero Poker CEO David Jung has revealed that his popular but previously business problem plagued online poker site is to go the network route again, this time with the Microgaming Poker Network, launching next December.

The new arrangement is currently undergoing testing at Hero Poker.net, although this is at present only open to invited players.

The bad news is that US online poker players, who were attracted to Hero and Jung's openness on the twoplustwo forums in discussing his business hassles with companies like Merge Poker Network, will not be welcome in the poker room's new venture with a new software, although it is apparently to maintain a "stand alone" status regarding its player pool.

Hero will carry the full MPN product, including Microgaming's popular Blaze fast-fold poker variant.

Headquartered in Macau, Jung has an impressive industry record; he set up the original Hero Poker site in early 2011 having worked for Pokerstars for several years as senior development manager for the APPT and as regional marketing director for Asia.

During this period he is widely credited as a key mover and shaker in setting up poker game legalization in Macau in late 2007.

Jung left Pokerstars in March 2010 to set up Hero on the Merge Poker Network, departing the network in December last year after the two sides failed to find common ground on business issues.

With his customary candour, Jung has let it be known that Hero's current relaunch with the Microgaming software is under a new corporate structure and ownership, with the previous corporate entities dissolved.
