Pari Mutuel Urbain partners with Hipodromo de San Sebastian

Organisation to learn from French operator's experience
 
The second biggest horserace course in Spain Hipodromo de San Sebastian will offer online betting as a result of a partnership agreement between Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) and la sociedad Hipódromos y Apuestas de Euskadi (HAHE), an association PMU has worked closely with over the past seven years.
 
PMU also reached a partnership agreement with HAHE-owned Apuesta Ganador Online, s.a. (AGOSA) for online horseracing totalisator betting in Spain. AGOSA has reportedly submitted a horse racing totalisator betting license application to the Spanish gambling authority (DGOJ).
 
"This agreement is a confirmation of our fruitful collaboration with HAHE and our experience in the French market combining online and offline betting encourages us to confidently launch this project," said a PMU spokesperson.
 
Miguel Ortiz-Cañavate, group president and majority shareholder Nervión HAHE and AGOSA said: "Since we took over the Hipódromo de San Sebastián, with 96 years of history in the equestrian world, PMU has been our management benchmark in racing and betting; closer relations with PMU will enable us to learn from their experience in developing on and off-line equestrian betting in Spain.  It is a motivator for the group and will undoubtedly prove very beneficial to the industry in Spain".
