Horse Races S.A Gets exclusive 20-year license

Controversial 20-year exclusive license finalised.

The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) has announced the completion of the concession process granting OPAP subsidiary, Horse Races S.A., the exclusive 20-year license to organise and conduct horse race betting.

Horse Races SA said in a letter to the HRADF that it will begin activities as soon as December 10, 2015.

The cost for the privilege of the exclusive concession stands at Euro 40,501,000, the first 20 percent instalment already deposited in an escrow account and a second 30 percent to be paid when activities launch.
