Sponsor Zalewski requests postponement as budget debate distracts lawmakers.
   
Media reports from Illinois indicate that a proposed daily fantasy sports bill introduced to the legislature by Rep. Mike Zalewski has been put on the backburner due to the Legislature being distracted by a complex and at times antagonistic budget debate.
 
With procedural deadlines looming at the end of this week, and amendments to his bill still an issue in the House Judiciary Committee, Zalewski requested an extension for the bill to keep it alive for debate at a more propitious date.
